This is Volume I of III of the Gemini VII voice communications transcript, covering pages 1 to 337 and marked Confidential. It records air-to-ground, ground-to-air and on-board exchanges beginning at lift-off. Early passages cover staging, orbit insertion and stationkeeping with the booster, which the crew reports is venting heavily, and they photograph it. Later passages near 116 hours hold the crew's detailed descriptions of airglow, stars and a sunrise seen from orbit.

## CONFIDENTIAL 67:09:12 P They just mentioned that we were going to do a small Posigrade Maneuver sometime today. 67:09:17 CC That is correct. That will be done on the 44th revolution, which is two from now, and the purpose of it is to allow us an option of optimizing for an eighth day or ninth day launch on Gemini VI. We will not have to decide which of those days we are optimizing for until the fifth day, by making this burn today. Do you copy? 67:09:52 P Roger. Understand. 67:09:54 CC Gemini VI is going along extremely well. They're about a day ahead at this time, so we want to preserve this option; and this maneuver today will enable us to do that. We are planning for you to do it without the platform, if that sounds all right to you. We will brief you on the stars here in a minute. 67:10:17 P Roger. No platform. Understand. 67:10:21 CC Okay. We'll be giving you more information on that burn in the flight plan update on your next pass over the US, and we will be giving you a specific update for the maneuver at some later time also. 67:10:37 CC How is the suit configuration working out? We heard the comments over Carnarvon. Do you have any additional comments to make, any clothespin problems or anything like that? 67:10:48 P Suit configuration is working out very well. Have you thought about using the orbital flight suit at all? 67:11:03 P No. I didn't want to break it out because it would make more of a housekeeping problem and I'm not that cold. 67:11:10 CC Roger.
