Gemini VII Air-to-Ground Transcript Volume I: 5011500_VolumeI

· 341 pages · text by OCR

This is Volume I of III of the Gemini VII voice communications transcript, covering pages 1 to 337 and marked Confidential. It records air-to-ground, ground-to-air and on-board exchanges beginning at lift-off. Early passages cover staging, orbit insertion and stationkeeping with the booster, which the crew reports is venting heavily, and they photograph it. Later passages near 116 hours hold the crew's detailed descriptions of airglow, stars and a sunrise seen from orbit.

40:40:01	CC	Could you tell about how long it was off?
40:40:04	C	No. As a matter-of-fact, I didn't notice it go off. I just saw it come back on, but it couldn't have been more than 2 or 3 minutes because we just checked it.
40:40:12	CC	Roger.

42:25:02	C	Okay. We're ready to copy update. The purge has started now.

42:26:27	C	On that last update you just want us to check with D-5, or check with you on D-5? They're going to give us the word over the States. Is that what you mean?
42:26:35	CC	That's affirmative. The procedure will be given to you over the States.
