This Federal Aviation Administration record, released in 2023, is a preliminary FAA operations report dated September 17, 2024. It says Los Angeles ARTCC relayed a report from public use flight TROY21, a Beech B350 flying from RIV to SJC. At FL200, 20 miles southeast of the Avenal VOR in California, the crew saw an unidentified aerial phenomenon pass 10 feet below the right wing. They described it as football sized and cylindrical. No evasive action was reported, and the report does not say whether law enforcement was notified.
