This Federal Aviation Administration record, released in 2023, is a preliminary FAA operations report on an event of February 23, 2024. Jacksonville ARTCC advised that the crew of N5430G, a Gulfstream GLF5 heading north from Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, to Newark, reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon. They were flying at FL450, 140 miles south of Wilmington, North Carolina. The crew described two white lights that appeared stationary at FL490 ahead of the aircraft. The object was not observed on radar.
