This Federal Aviation Administration preliminary report, released in 2023 under the Department of Transportation, covers a UFO/UAP event near Chicago-Rockford, Illinois at 0450 Central time on February 19, 2024. Salt Lake City ARTCC relayed that the crew of Air Transport flight 3498, a B763 flying from SMF to RFD, reported several lights moving and circling at FL370 or above. The pilot first reported them 20 NM ENE of MTU. Air traffic control radar did not detect the UAP.
