This Federal Aviation Administration record, part of a 2023 release, preserves preliminary FAA operations information about an event on February 17, 2024. At 3:54 a.m. Central time, Fort Worth Air Route Traffic Control Center relayed that United flight 2484, a Boeing 737 MAX flying from Phoenix to Newark at 37,000 feet about 20 miles north of Ardmore, Oklahoma, had reported one to five white lights of varying brightness. The lights moved vertically and horizontally, appeared and quickly disappeared, and other eastbound aircraft reported the same phenomenon.
