This Federal Aviation Administration preliminary operations report covers UAP activity on September 15, 2023 near Liberal, Kansas. Kansas City Air Route Traffic Control Center advised that American Airlines flight 577, an A321 flying from Dallas-Fort Worth to Denver, reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon 2,000 feet below the aircraft. The aircraft was northwest bound at FL340 when the crew saw it. The UAP was described as lights coming from unidentified objects, and the crew took no evasive action.
