This Federal Aviation Administration preliminary report, released in 2023, logs a late-reported UAP sighting by a United Airlines crew on July 30, 2023. Fort Worth ARTCC said United 1409, an A320 flying from IAH to MKE, saw an unidentified aerial phenomenon at its 12 o'clock position while heading northeast at FL260 near Lufkin, Texas. The crew described 15 bright lights that appeared and then quickly disappeared. No evasive action was taken and law enforcement was not notified.
