This Federal Aviation Administration record, part of a 2023 Department of Transportation release, is a preliminary operations report of UFO/UAP activity near Billings, Montana, on February 3, 2023, at 9:39 PM MST. Salt Lake City ARTCC relayed a report from United Airlines flight 1580, a Boeing 737-800 flying from Chicago O'Hare to Vancouver. While heading west-northwest at FL380 about 60 miles east of Billings, the crew reported orbiting lights above the aircraft. No evasive action and no law enforcement notification were reported.
