This Federal Aviation Administration record, released in 2023, is a preliminary FAA operations report for an event on August 14, 2022 involving aircraft N782HG near Wilmington, North Carolina. At 0322 Eastern, a pilot flying westbound 95 miles southeast of Wilmington reported a possible UFO at the 11 o'clock position at FL450. The pilot described three lights in a row above the aircraft and said they appeared to be in geosynchronous orbit. Several other aircraft reported the same sighting.
