This Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report records an unidentified aerial phenomenon reported at 05:21 on October 1, 2024. The crew of Southwest Airlines flight SWA986, a Boeing 737 flying north from San Diego to Oakland at FL400 about 16 nautical miles southwest of LAX, saw bright lights off the left side, orbiting and stationary at about FL600. The objects did not appear on air traffic control radar. The report notes that they matched a Starlink map, and the case is marked closed.
