This Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch Incident Report, dated September 26, 2023, records an unidentified aerial phenomenon reported by JetBlue flight JBU811, flying from Boston to Chicago O'Hare. The crew was westbound at 36,000 feet when they saw multiple orbiting lights at 12 o'clock that looked like aircraft landing lights. The lights sat about 25 degrees above the horizon, near the Big Dipper. Several other aircraft reported a similar sighting, and the case is marked closed.

The unknown phenomenon was multiple lights orbiting. They appear to be similar to aircraft landing lights. The lights appear to be 25 degrees above the horizon in the vicinity of the Big Dipper constellation. Multiple other aircraft reported a similar sighting.
