This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch Incident Report dated August 12, 2023, and filed by Jacksonville Center (ZJX). The crew of SCX8727, a commercial Boeing 737-800 flying from Fort Lauderdale to Charlotte, reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon off the right side while northbound at 20,000 feet, about 30 nautical miles southwest of Florence. They described three circling lights maneuvering at 40,000 feet. ZJX received a primary radar target at that location, and the report is closed.
