This Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, part of a 2023 Department of Transportation release, records an unidentified aerial phenomenon reported on 17 July 2023. A Southwest Airlines Boeing 737, flight SWA549 from RSW to STL, was northwest bound at FL380 about 81 NM southeast of Memphis when the crew saw a string of lights high above with no known direction of travel. The report notes the lights appear to correlate with Starlink satellites, and the case is closed.
