This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, dated May 29, 2023 and now closed, about an unidentified aerial phenomenon reported to New York Center. The crew of JRE785, a commercial C25B flying from Savannah to Poughkeepsie, reported the object while heading northeast at FL 190, 10 NM south of JFK. They described a white cylinder about the size of three bowling balls moving east at about the same altitude. The pilot called it a near miss, and no evasive maneuvers were taken.
