This is a Federal Aviation Administration event report, released in 2023, about an unidentified aerial phenomenon in the Washington, D.C. Flight Restricted Zone on 24 February 2023. The NCR Coordination Center logged a primary radar target that did not answer controllers. Fighters were scrambled and an ONEC call was convened. Because the target was already heading out of the FRZ, the fighters held there, and the target left the SFRA at 1635. Tactical actions were then canceled. The target was never confirmed visually, and PCT was to file the mandatory occurrence report.
