This is a Federal Aviation Administration unidentified aerial phenomenon report, released by the Department of Transportation in 2023. It records a closed report from 3 February 2023. Southwest Airlines flight SWA3125, a B38M flying from Midway (MDW) to Colorado Springs (COS), was heading west at FL340 over STJ. The crew reported a large balloon off the right side at about FL500 or higher. The reporting facility was ZKC.
