This is a 2023 Federal Aviation Administration report on an unidentified aerial phenomenon, recorded as closed. On February 3, 2023, the crew of a Falcon 2000 general aviation aircraft, callsign N7771HM, was flying west at FL400 from MQS to APA. About 20 nautical miles north of BQS, they reported a large balloon off their left side. The report puts the balloon at about FL500 or higher. The Kansas City center (ZKC) filed the report.
