This Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch Incident Report is part of a 2023 release. It records an unidentified aerial phenomenon reported at 08:50 on October 15, 2022, and the report is marked closed. The crew of United flight UAL2492, a Boeing 737-900 flying eastbound from Seattle to Washington Dulles at FL350 over FSD, saw five white twinkling lights above them and in the distance. Minneapolis Center later named UAL2059 and AAL276 as two other aircraft that saw the phenomenon around the same time.

The unknown phenomenon was five white twinkling lights traveling above and in the distance. Two other aircraft reported seeing twinkling lights prior to this report but OS did not have callsigns, HQ DEN requested OS review audio tapes and identify aircraft. 0944 UPDATE: ZMP reports UAL2059 and AAL276 were the aircraft that observed the phenomenon in the area around the same time.
