This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, released in 2023, about an unidentified aerial phenomenon on April 8, 2022. The crew of AMX692, a Boeing 737 MAX flying from Mexico City to Toronto at FL370, reported several lights doing an orbit 60 to 80 miles ahead and very high above them. Memphis Center (ZME) had no radar returns in the area. A FedEx flight nearby, about 70 miles west of Louisville, saw nothing unusual. ZME filed a mandatory occurrence report and closed the case.

ZME controllers have no radar depicting any activity in the vicinity at any altitude. FDX1 is at FL380 off the OWB333033 SW bound at FL380. ZME will inquire of FDX1 any anomalies in the area to attempt to correlate the sighting. 0809 FDX1 reported no anomalies sighted during their flight in the vicinity described by AMX692.
