This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, dated 4 December 2021 and now closed. It records that Spirit flight NKS713, an A319 flying from LaGuardia to Phoenix, reported an unidentified aerial phenomenon at 18,000 feet over BWZ that looked like burning space debris traveling east. Several other aircraft reported the same thing, though no debris re-entry was scheduled. A pilot who called in from the ground later said he thought it was Starlink satellites, and other callers described the ISS crossing the sky.

The unknown phenomenon was reported looking like space debris (burning flames) entering from the atmosphere above and traveling E bound. Multiple aircraft are also reporting the same phenomenon. No space debris re-entry scheduled. 0001 ZOB reported receiving a phone call from a pilot at home in Carroll County, seeing a long white object moving W to E, near the Pittsburg area. Pilot later called back and stated he thinks it is Starlink satellites. Various other reports of the ISS going across the sky possibly reflecting light at approximately the same time. NFA.
