This is a Federal Aviation Administration Skywatch incident report, released by the Department of Transportation in 2023, about an event on July 24, 2021 that was coded as an unidentified aerial phenomenon. It says a commercial CRJ7 flying from Detroit to Newark under callsign GJS4582 struck a silver balloon at about 11,000 feet over BWZ while heading southeast. The balloon was rising at the time. The report records no damage or injuries, and its status is closed.
