This release contains White House Exchange Mail records dated January 1998 to October 1999. Most of it is a transcript of a January 29, 1998 press briefing by Press Secretary Mike McCurry covering Iraq, Iran, the budget and the Lewinsky inquiry, plus a 1998 presidential speech. An October 19, 1999 email among Transnational Threats staff forwards a Florida Today article on how scientists expect alien contact would spark a media frenzy rather than a cover-up, describing the 1989 SETI detection protocol.

who is not absolutely determined to fix this in a way that does not unfai:

And if nothing is done by 2029, there will be a deficit in the Social Sect
trust fund, which will either require — if you just wait until then — a hug
tax increase in the payroll tax, or just about a 25 percent cut in Social
Security benefits. And let me say today, Social Security — I want to put
in, too, because I want you all to start thinking about this — Social Secui
was conceived as giving a floor for life. It is not enough to sustain the
standard of living of almost any retiree retiring today.
