This is a White House ARMS email record created on 11 July 1997. Philip Schuler of the University of Maryland, College Park sent it to Philip C. Droege at the Executive Office of the President. It forwards a satirical news item headlined "Air Force Denies Stories of UFO Crash." In the parody, a Mars Air Force general says an object that crashed near Ares Vallis was a weather balloon. Conspiracy theorists in the story call this a cover-up.
