This is a set of Clinton White House emails from the presidential records system, dated September 1997 to February 1999. Two September 1997 faxes from Jonathan Orszag of the Office of Policy Development carry an AP report that Swissair said an unidentified wingless object passed about 50 yards from a Boeing 747 after it left Philadelphia. A January 1999 exchange asks "Where is UFO?" A February 1999 Mining Co. newsletter promotes an article debunking claims about a 1991 shuttle video.

The pilot and copilot gave U.S. investigators different descriptions of the object that passed about 50 yards from the Boeing 747 after it had taken off from Philadelphia on Aug. 9, said the airline. The pilot told the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board that the object as long and wingless, but the copilot said it was more spherical, Swissair spokesman Erwin Schaerer said. The incident took place at 23,000 feet. The plane's final destination was Zurich. APNP-09-26-97 1320EDT
