This Navy report, filed in 1959 under the heading "Information, Collection of," went from a commanding officer to the Commandant, Eleventh Naval District, and was signed by direction by C. J. Economou. Its two enclosures describe night sightings of four round, silvery-white objects near San Cayetano Mountain. One witness was Police Officer Orville Clinton of Fillmore, California. The other was Police Sergeant D. A. Kelly of Santa Paula, with Officer Paul Lydick as a second witness. The air traffic control officer at NAS Point Mugu, who prepared the enclosures, called the cause undetermined.

## Enclosure (2) Descriptive data on unidentified flying objects sighted by Police Sergeant D. A. KELLY of Santa Paula, California. 1. Description of the objects. a. Shape - round. b. Size - twice as big as a basket ball. c. Color - white like an electric light. d. Number - four. e. Formation - two objects were close together and two were apart following in line. f. Discernible features or details - none. 8. Tail, trail, or exhaust - none. h. Sound - none 1. Pertinent or unusual features - none. 2. Description of course. a. Brightness of objects attracted observers attention to them. b. Objects were sighted to the northeast over the foothills and appeared to be low over the hills at a considerable distance from the observer. c. Objects were still over the foothills when they disappeared but had moved slightly to the northwest. d. Objects appeared to be moving in a line slowly toward the northwest. Movement was not rapid but sufficient to clearly distinguish motion. e. Observer looked away from objects for a moment and was unable to see them again. f. Objects were in view for about two minutes. 3. Hanner of observation. a. Ground visual. b. No optical aids. 4. Time and date of sighting.
