This Clinton Presidential Library release from NSC email records, filed under Roswell, covers April 19 to November 30, 1995. In an April 1995 email, NSC staffer William Leary says the NSC holds no records on the 1947 Roswell incident and that any records would most likely be at the Archives. Later emails circulate drafts of President Clinton's Belfast Christmas tree lighting remarks. The final transcript includes his answer to 13-year-old Ryan: as far as he knows, no alien spacecraft crashed at Roswell in 1947.

And if the U.S. Air Force recovered alien bodies and didn't tell an yone about it, it's news to me. Ladies and gentlemen, citizens of Belfast, friends of my country and the American pe ople: May the Christmas spirit of peace and goodwill flourish and grow in your land.
