This Ministry of Defence file, released through The National Archives and published by The Black Vault, holds the MOD's 2002 handling of Dr David Clarke's requests for UFO documents under the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information. It includes the MOD's 9 December 2002 reply, which covered reports from 1976, 1980, 1993 and 1996 and charged £260. It also contains internal emails and file requisitions, plus Foreign Office and United Nations papers from 1978 on Grenada's proposal for UFO research.

1. With reference to the attached report by P.c.lllllllllllllll
concerning a U.F.O. being sighted in the Brer~
Rugel~nformation has been received by myself from
a Cpl~e Military Police at R.A.F. Cosford.
2. Cpl ~nformed me that from enquiries he has made
he nas further sightings of the U.F.O. in Bristol at
0100 hours by an Andrew Hughes at'Bristol Airport, at
Ternhill Barracks at 0200 hours by two guards on duty
there and at R.A.F. ·stafford where two guards also saw
it travelling at a speed of approximately '400 knots'
on a very low flight path.
3. Cpl~ informed me that he has liaised with R.A.F.
Shrewsbury, at~.who informed him that he had seen
a U.F.O. in th ravelling at high speed but riding
erratically at different ~ttitudes. He observed it for
approx. 15 minutes until it went off at speed (400 knots)
in a southern direction.
4. Enquiries have been made with all aviation centres and
there was no activity in the area at all by any military
or civil aeroplanes.
5. All the above information has been recorded at R.A.F. Cosford
and a separate report has been compiled by Cpl~
