Dr. HYNE,. No, sir. I said there were several cases where we had
a lot of witnesses. It does not have to be a poit"-to-point situation.
When an airliner leaves New York for San Francisco, it is seen over
Ohio, Nebraska, and so forth. These sightings were confined to a
relatively narrow area. I want to know what happened to these
objects. Why weren't they seen over Fort Wayne, Ind.?
Mr.S CHWEIKER. The fact one officer repcfts he went to the scene
after someone lse sighted it, and returned back t6the samba point, there
it was, accotditbgtte p01iceofficer's testimony.
Dr. HYNeK. Yes, sir but it was in the same area.. We don't know
what it was. I would likitO knbw whatit was.
Mr. SOHWE.KER. One of the other witnesses in this storiy-and all I
have to goon is-what the reporter's writing-says, they did, in fact see
it go frobI pint t 6ifit, while they were watching it.
Dr. HYxEK. Wit ifa relatively narrow area. But I don't recollect
whether they saw it leave for distaYit poiiits. One of'the things thtt
seems to*be so odd about thi§-p itiCuTar case is that we did not find
horizontal trajetolies over any length, as you would expect from a
craft.
Mr. SOHWEIKER. Is the Beaver County sighting unexplained or is
that explainablethis photograph I referred to?

Major QWNTARILLA. We have asked Mr. Lucci to subihit the nega-
tive for photoafilyis buthe has refused t6do so.
Dr. HYNE;. It needs a d60'ble exposure, as we can judge fromrthe
print.

Mr. SOHWEIKER. On what basis?
Major QtINTAfLLA. I don't know, sir. We rested thenegative.
Mr. SoIWEIKER. He submitted It'tdhe'Bover Times. They pub-
lished it. Maybe these people are a little skeptical about turning over
negaives without soin assurance.
Think we ought to lo6k into that a little'blt;because the newspaper
claims they saw the negatives, examined bytheir photographic experts,
and they are Alithehtic.
Major QVxTAitW.A. I have a copy of our letter in my files asking
Mr. Lucci to subailt the negative for analysis, and he declined to do
so. That is allI can say.
