This Internet Archive upload by Paul Galante reproduces the FBI's 2017 FOIA release to John Greenewald Jr. of The Black Vault about George Adamski. The release contains 281 previously processed pages. It includes 1954 Detroit field office memoranda on the Flying Saucer Club of Detroit, on informants who worried that its anti-hydrogen-bomb messages were political propaganda, and on a July 1954 meeting presided over by Adamski. Later items cover Joseph Perry's 1960 Grand Blanc saucer photograph, which was passed to the Air Force, and a 1960 Detroit sighting report.

Dear Mr. Smith:

The enclosed copies of literature in my hands is being sent to
you at the request of Mr. 0'Gara.
In each instance the stuff is mimeographed. The literature put
out under the name of Dr. Laughead's name has his name and address
stamped at the top, and is signed by him. The other literature
has no signature or no letterheading. There is some merit to the
religious aspects invoked, but I sense a doctrine of fear inter-
woven in the material and a doctrine of complacency, both of which
could possibly have an effect of neutralizing our young people on
basic Americanism.
My understanding with Mr. O'Gara was that my son (from whom I got
this material) would not be approached or involved except through
me. He was just recently drawn into this because of his interest
in Flying Saucers. He has just finished five years in the Army.
I lost my other son last year on duty as a Jet Fighter pilot. I
do not want to lose this one through ~hat could be construed as
I" meddling on my part. On the other hand, it is not at all imposs-
~ ible that he could be enlisted to assist us, and certainly you can
~
~~ count upon me to do anything within my capacity.
I may be unduly alarmed, but I do not like the thought that Flying
~ aucer classes have been started on the campuses of many univer-
~' ~ t ~;~ities and that this stuff is being disseminated through them. You
~ lv~f'~re best able to determine whether I am over-suspicious or not.

For credentials, the writer was chief assistant Secretary of State
of Michigan for two years, was Detroit's first inter-racial director,
and served three terms on the executive council of the Episcopal
diocese of Michigan. I mention this merely to avoid being labeled
a crackpot.
