of Detroit on 8-19-54 at the Veterans Memorial Bldg, Detroit. she had previously
advised tha writer that she would attend the meeting. ·
llRS. MOONEY advised that approximately 300 people attended the meeting~
She said that the meeting was mainly concernid with various people giving their
accounts of their sightings of Flying Saucers. After each person gave his
sighting a MR. REEVES, an engineer, would make comments on each one.
According tb Mrs. Mooney a MRS. REEVES (see leaflet caption Flying
saucer club of Detroit in L-A) stated that it was her opinion rrom reading the
books ''Flying saucers have landed" by GEORGE ADAMSKI and "Aboard the Fly:i.p.g
Saucer" by TRUMAN BETHRU!i, that the people fro.Ql D:kim outer space were :Drying
to convey to us that the use of the atom bomb was sending a vapor into the
outer space and spoiling their space travel. She said theme ~people from
outer space believed that the vapor would some day descend on earth and
destroy it, and that these people didnot want earth destroyed.
She stated that MR. MADAY said that at the mext meeting they would
have petitions out for the people to have signed. These petitions are to be
sent to the President of the United states to have him tell the American people
the truth, that there is space travel.
She said that a MR. JOHN HOFFMAN, advertising man, gave a flying saucer
sighting at 15 mile rd. and stevens Highway. Also a MR. TROUT, Continental Motprs
gave a sighting.
AffiS. MOONEY stated that nothing eiie was said with the exception of the
