On July 13, 1954 Mr. BUD GOODMAN, Free Press Editorial
Writer in the Sunday Department, called the Writer in reference
to a meeting which had been held recently in Detroit under the
name of the Flying Saucer Review Group. He stated that he had
received a notice signed ·by one HENRY ~~AY, Director of a
flying saucer study group being established, with a meeting to
be held July 15, 19~ at 8:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial
Building and that the program is supposed to be unqer the
sponsorship of the Detroit Truth Forum.
Mr. GOODMAN stated he is suspicious of. the group
inasmuch as he feels they are ·using the- flying saucer scare
to issue political propaganda and also bring in a pseudo
religious angle to the program. Mr. GOODMAN stated that so
far as he can tell this group is definitely against atomic
warfare or the use of atomic bombs by this country. ·
