This Internet Archive upload by Paul Galante reproduces the FBI's 2017 FOIA release to John Greenewald Jr. of The Black Vault about George Adamski. The release contains 281 previously processed pages. It includes 1954 Detroit field office memoranda on the Flying Saucer Club of Detroit, on informants who worried that its anti-hydrogen-bomb messages were political propaganda, and on a July 1954 meeting presided over by Adamski. Later items cover Joseph Perry's 1960 Grand Blanc saucer photograph, which was passed to the Air Force, and a 1960 Detroit sighting report.

Another lecturer in Detroit ·was TRUMAN BETHURUM. The sponsors of' these speakers were HELEN REEVE, LAURA MARXER, HENRY MADAY and RONALD COOK. According to pamphlets furnished by Mr. GOODMAN a "F~ying Saucer Review-; Group" was to be f'ormed. This was he~tled by HENRY MADAY, 364 West Lewiston, Ferndale, Michigan, who uses the pen name, JARED LYON. He is Editor, Bresser Cro~s Index Directory, Detroit. They also advised that LAURA MARXER was f'or.merly the one portraying the personality "MIDGE" in the program "Playschool" over Station WWJ-TV. On July 13, 1954, Mr. GOODMAN advised that MADAY was bringing to Detroit someone who had talked to people .f'rom Venus, Clarion, etc., who are more highly advanced than earth people. These people allegedly advocated the Golden Rule as the only wqrkable rule. ~fr. GOODMAN said a meeting was to be held of' this "Saucer" group on July 15, 1954. Mr. GOODMAN f'elt such an organization could use the f'lying saucer "scare" as political propaganda or that it may have 1 a psuedo-religious view. He said they opposed the atomic bomb and warfare. Miss LOUISE MOONEY, 8854 Stoepel, Detroit advised that she attended the July 15, 1954, meeting o'f' the f'lying saucer group. The purpose was to organize a f'lying saucer club in Detroit. She said HENRY MADAY was behind it. She f'irst bec~e acquainted with him when he purchased books on f'lying saucers in a store where she then worked. At this meeting an organizational letter was passed out stating the purpose of' the "Flying Saucer Club of' Detroit" was: 1. To spread, enlighten and share in programs dealing basically with information pertaining to f'lying saucers. 2. To attend, whenever possible, regular periodic programs Wherein local neighborhood leaders, chairmen an~m~be~s could comment on sightings, exchange ideas and in general become aware of' the saucer picture. - 2 -
