Ford's Fifth District weekly radio scripts from January to June 1966, plus several National Republican Congressional Committee scripts. They deal with President Johnson's budget, inflation, four-year House terms, electoral college reform, foreign aid, the Vietnam War, rent subsidies and Memorial Day. Johnson is truly devoted to the principle of "one-man,one-vote," he would advocate the election of the President by direct popular vote with a 11run off" if necessary to obtain majority rule. An alternative proposal calls for proportional representation in the electoral college. If two candidates receive 60 percent and 40 per:;ent of a state's popular vote, they would get 60 and 40 percent respectively of the state's electoral vote.
