This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

Re telephone call to attend at the Bureau on July 12, 1950. On July 11, 1950, furnished this Office with a copy of a letter accrued to the Daily Oklahoma and Times, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, dated July 10, 1950. Copies of this letter were designated for the FBI, Washington, and the Oklahoma City Police Department. The letter itself is quoted: ## *Gentlemen: "Reference to a fellow being 'soused', in your paper of this date, applied to me. To say that, was not libel, because, sometimes that is true and, here in the Bible Belt, who determines when one is 'soused'.? "What I have to say is, that the 'piece of an old meteorite' was no doubt true. But, on close accord with the circumstances, I examined the piece and found a wire attached. That was the reason for calling the FBI and the Oklahoma City Police Department. "The Oklahoma City Police Department did their duty, in this little incident, but the FBI office seemed to care little about it. Had it been of major importance, would the local office acted as it did? In the Oklahoma City Times of July 10, 1950, there appeared an article entitled, Flying Saucer Lands in Police Trophy Room." This article is attached. Submitted herewith is a copy of a memorandum by night clerk relative to this matter.
