This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

The followir morning, upon reporting to work I confided my duty to stationed at Oak Ridge with the MEPA Project, but I hesitated to go on record as having observed such an unidentified object. However, a few hours later Mr. William M. Price of the Knoxville OBI Office visited my office at which time I gave him an off-the-record account of the subject. In the meantime, I learned that I had also observed an unidentified object on the prior evening. In the presence of and Price, I telephoned and asked him to relate what he had seen. I listened on an auxiliary phone as a witness. Observations during the prior evening were identical as to the time, location, coloring, etc., with the one exception in which he did not observe any deviation in direction other than gradual disappearance of the object while it was getting smaller and smaller and finally disappearing from view entirely in the northwest at exactly the same moment that my wife and I had observed. Mr. Price telephoned the radar unit at the McGhee-Tyson Airport and learned that an unidentified object appeared on the screen at 6:30 at an altitude of approximately 5000 feet in the same general vicinity as I had observed and disappeared from the screen at 7:20 the same evening. --- CERTIFIED TRUE COPY: / WILLIAM B.
