This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

On 13 November 1940, the undersigned was informed by personnel at the Civil Aeronautical Administration (CAA), Communications Section, Knoxville Airport, Knoxville, Tennessee, that a Boston, Mass., commercial airline Pilot, and six other persons (names unknown), while awaiting a flight at Knoxville Airport, saw an object traveling to the Southwest at great rate of speed. Who has considerable flying experience, was extremely excited and stated that this object was not an aircraft. He described it as a circular object, leaving a trail of smoke. Before further information may be obtained concerning this sighting, should be interviewed in an attempt to learn the names of the other five observers. The incident occurred on 29 October 1950. Knoxville, Tennessee, maintains a record of unidentified and identified objects, and/or aircrafts which he is requested to contact by radio prior to the Air Force Fighters attempted interception. His record further verified some of the sightings and listed Air Force activity heretofore not reported. Apparently an object traveling at eighty (80) miles per hour from the Northeast to the Southwest, over the restricted area, on 5 November 1950, at 0929 hours, was intercepted by a fighter aircraft according to radar screen readings. The Fighter intercepted this object near or over the restricted zone and circled to the right, so as to trail the object for about 20 miles. The pilot reported that he made no visual contact with any object during this interception.
