This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

JULY 7, 1951 Evening. LOS ANGELES, California. 34° Lat, 116½° Long. Brilliant motionless light hovered high in sky. Later, a pale circular disc appeared under it, and then both objects suddenly moved southward, with disc leading. They suddenly changed direction, and light now led disc. BUTLER, Penna. 41° Lat, 80° Long. Silvery sphere approximately 150-200 feet wide, intercepted at 45,000 feet by group of jets, identifying it as a weather balloon. Oblong silvery object with reddish and bluish edges, and possibly carrying 2 lights, moved slowly from northwest to southeast.
