This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

Federal Bureau of Investigation Pennsylvania and 9th Washington D Subject: Possible subversive r1: ## Gentlemen; Further to my registered letter 73520 of March 1, listing persons we planned contacting for the new CIVILIAN SAUCER INTELLIGENCE, to discuss the Saucers, I am sending a second report on membership. I have reached much definite impressions since then, on some members, and enclose these for they are worth. From her actions, general attitudes, and methods, I am almost positive is part of some other group, possibly subversive, investigating the field for possible civilian information on the subject. From her attitude, toward and her contacting me after I had written twice after long activity, his unusual will to cooperate with our group, different from his previous closeouthed att I am almost positive he is part of the same group, and either directs her the entire group in New York City. He does a great deal of travelling from New York to Washington and Baltimore, and may be some sort of courier. A clipping has come in that also previously listed, states he is a research 'Assistante Professor' to PROFESSOR in Albuquerque, now studying 'Heteoritics'. I have nothing as to Process background other than he has given out some peculiarly mis-infor- ideas on the subject in recent years. These Include: a widely circulated release that the Green fireballs were not 'natural' phenomena, and probably were American secret weapons: an in People Today that saucers and fireballs were probably coming from north Russian Bases; a news release that flying saucers over Northern Japan in Jan. 1953, were probably Russian guided missiles, contrary to all known performances of missiles. After sending some special information on cancer reports he mentioned after long delay that he had been at Cambridge, Mass. Whether or not there is a connection, PROFESSOR WHOX wrote a dellor mleinformative and debunking book on flying saucers, lives near Cambridge while working at Harvard. According to some persons who have supposedly his daughter, they are unquestionably communists or fellow travellers. How I am not sure of the character of the persons who must state is only hearsay evidence.
