FBI file: UFO, UFO Part 16

Federal Bureau of Investigation · 169 pages · text by OCR

This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

Bureau is referred to letter dated 4/21/54 from Director, FBI, to at above address, thanking for information furnished.

At 11:10 A.M., on 6/18/56, telephonically contacted SA at the NYO of the FBI. Mrs. spoke incoherently and said that her son was on the verge of a mental breakdown because certain people would not leave him alone.

On 6/30/54, SA had telephonically contacted and thanked him for some material on flying saucers he had mailed to the NYO.

The only information that could be obtained from was that a letter, associated with the Fort Lee, New Jersey, had written to her son sometime in June or July, 1956. According to the letter contained information concerning saucers, but also had a cover letter which stated the FBI has gotten after who is slowly disintegrating.

stated she does not have this letter. became hysterical on the phone, and stated that something must be done to save her son. stated she would hold the FBI responsible if anything goes wrong with her son. talked on and an, and would not listen to anything concerning the jurisdiction of the FBI.
