This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

Sullivan of this Bureau has been called to my attention and I appreciate your furnishing the information contained therein. Since, however, this is a matter within the jurisdiction of the Department of the Air Force, I am taking the liberty of furnishing that agency a copy of your letter. Bufiles contain a clipping from the "Los Angeles Times" of 4-1-61 in which described as listed as a council member of the John Birch Society. Bufiles also indicate that in 1957 wrote a letter to the Bureau attesting to the anticommunist nature of one of a lecturer on whom Bufiles contain no references. In his letter to Assistant Director Bullivan of 8-10-61 pointed out that he had observed an unusual light in the sky. No action indicated by Bureau.
