FBI file: UFO, UFO Part 16

Federal Bureau of Investigation · 169 pages · text by GLM-OCR

This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1949 Army intelligence reports of unidentified aerial objects seen around Camp Hood, Texas, forwarded by the San Antonio office, which told the Director it was reviewing and destroying such reports unless they held FBI interest. It also has 1957 FBI liaison memoranda on a radar-tracked object near Montauk Point and Benton, Pennsylvania, judged unlikely to be a Soviet operation. The file also includes a civilian Flying Saucer Researchers release arguing that saucers probably come from Mars.

## USC Material

3 piece form mail from The Golden Dawn Press Methods of the Magi The Flying Saucers Are Real My Friend from Beyond Earth Flying Saucerania Outwitting Tomorrow

NOTE: Correspondent is not identifiable in Bufiles. The date received is being used as her letter was dated March 23, 1961, and no postmark date could be located. Correspondent enclosed three pieces of form mail from The Golden Dawn Press, 1044 South Olive Street, Los Angeles 15, California, and five books or pamphlets, namely: Flying Saucerama by Dr. Frank E. Stranges; My Friend from Beyond Earth by Dr. Stranges; Outwitting Tomorrow, a publication from The Golden Dawn Press; The Flying Saucers Are Real by Donald Keyhoe; and Methods of the Magl, another publication of The Golden Dawn Press.

She is being given an in-absence reply as it is believed these are not the type of books on which the Director would want to comment nor is the material in them of interest to the Bureau. She asks are the books subversive and if they are, in there any way to stop them or expose them. In view of the size of the books and pamphlets correspondent enclosed they are being returned to her under separate cover.
