# EDITORIAL...

"WE ARE NOT OPPOSED TO A COURT JESTER on the green lawns of the Royal Palace, provided he is not taken for an astronomical philosopher ~~".

Here, with all the arrogance of the self-opinion alated, self-appointed judge, in words of ignorance, mated with bigotry and begotten of an inflated agotism, we see a small section of that vociferous but often influential Press opinion which always swallows before it chews.

The occasion was the much-publicised, much-criticised audience of Queen Juliana of the Netherlands accorded to one George Adamski of California, U.S.A., at 11 a.m. on May 18th 1950, at Soestdijk Palace, near Utrecht, Holland.

The vociferous Press opinion in this instance was of the Catholic People's Party newspaper, "Die Volkskrant".

We could imagine the same self-elevated journalist writing: "We are not opposed to a court jester in the private apartments at the Vatican, provided - - ", on another May day, of another 11 a.m. audience, much more secret, of much more potential significance, four years later, when Adamski was received at the bed-side of the dying Pope John.

Of the one audience, with a gracious First Lady, the world's sensation tabloids went to town. Lacking the meat of the occasion on which to feast their readers they gave them the bones and the offal, and in the process they spilled and beamirched their own honourable profession.

The second audience was spared this treatment, and still is.

And so we can perceive how some of George Adamski's meetings with the famous received the full blast of publicity, whilst others, conducted in a secret undercurrent of diplomacy peopled with silent couriers and intercontinental briefings, are still, very much, "classified".

Adamski was NEVER afraid of the scoffers and the critics, still less of the faceless spokesman in authority. With energy which had to be seen to be believed, with courage of conviction based in sure knowledge of his own experiences, and with fortitude distilled from the sweet and the sour of his supporters and his detractors, HE DIDN'T GIVE A DAMN.

He could have written "pot-boilers" of space fiction in his sunny California, like many of his contemporaries, making a fortune from the credulous. This is shown by the fact that his books became world best-sellers in many languages. Yet in 12 years he only offered TWO AND A NALF BOOKS to the general public. Does this seem like a man who is "on the make?"

No. Instead he pushed and shoved his way; the many times, inhospitable climate of "expert" analysis and clinical dissection, saying: "Here is my evidence, here is my story ~ TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!"

AND HE DIED, DOING JUST THAT.

What kept him going for so long? What kept the flame so bright for those 12-13 long, bitter-sweet years? His tremendous sense of humour? YES! His many thousands of friends and supporters the world over? YES, THESE ALSO!

But his faith in a DIVINE INTELLIGENCE and sure knowledge of the existence and the helpful presence friends from other planets in space, were the Rod of good, spiritually- and physically-healthy human and the Staff on which he leaned, until he died.

G.A.'s "and" was but a beginning. And when he "graduated" others took over.

He knew, in those last few months, that it wouldn't be long. Already he knew those who were going to carry on his work. And the Brothers and the Sisters, those friends from across the sea of space, were busy in their task of forging new links, reshaping the pattern of their contacts with those close to Adamski.

AS WITH GEORGE ADAMSKI, the Brothers continue to furnish evidence of their presence in our skies. New films, startling in their clarity, are being provided by G.A.'s Co-workers. New accounts of recent contact with the men and women visiting us are evidence of their continued interest in our welfare.

Here, in this issue of UFO CONTACT, you will see more photographic presentation of "Unidentified Flying Objects". In some strange fashion, by some peculiar "co-incidence", another of G.A.'s close associates is enabled to take startling movie-film shots of objects in the sky. With this new evidence we shall show, too, how Adamski's successors are STILL pushing the experts. STILL offering for examination photographic proof of "inexplicable phenomena" in the skies above us.

There are always those who are ready to jeer and deride. This is a peculiar facet of the human psychology which stems almost solely from ignorance. But, thank God, there are those also who, in the face of public intolerance and apathy, are able to stand out from the rest and say of the pioneer: "Give the man his chance, let the man have his say".

As we have said a few words back, evidence is still being provided of our extraterrestrial visitors' presence on and above our planet. That this evidence remains a puzzle, - or gives the impression, at least, of remaining a puzzle - to competent "experts", despite public pronouncements made by the head of Project Blue Book, the U.S.A.F.'s UFO agency, that UFO's are NOT from Outer Space, ("Evening Telegram", San Bernadino, California, February 15th 1967 - full report on Page 103, UFO CONTACT, April issue), is shown here in the pages of UFO CONTACT.
