This FBI file release, Part 14 of the Bureau's UFO file, collects correspondence and memoranda from 1960 to 1968. Much of it concerns Joseph Perry of Grand Blanc, Michigan, whose moon photograph appeared to show a saucer-like object. The FBI passed the slides to Air Force OSI at Selfridge AFB and said repeatedly that it was not investigating. The file also covers a Denver lecture about space people, an anonymous Dallas informant, a NICAP subcommittee, and form replies stating that UFOs fall outside FBI jurisdiction.

Office Memorandum • UNITED TO DIRECTOR, FBI DATE: 12/19/58 FROM SAC, PHOENIX (52-667) O1-LIVING DISCS MISCELLANEOUS - INFORMATION CONCERNING (Nationalities Intelligence) Re Bureau letter 12/16/58. of gathering information concerning flying saucers and also gathering information concerning mysteries of the sea. He stated that any literature written he obtains in order to pursue this hobby. He referred agents to books written by Major DONALD E. KEYHOE entitled "Flying Saucers from Outer Space" and a book entitled "Flying Saucers Conspiracy." Both of these books were published by Henry Holt Company, 383 Madison, New York, New York. Major KEYHOE is a retired Major of the U. S. Marine Corps. Concerning the " " , he referred agents to the book entitled " They Knew Too Much About Flying Saucers", written by GRAY BARKER and published by University Books Publisher, April, 1956, third printing June, 1956. According to resides at Clarksberg, West Virginia, and is a person with whom corresponds concerning flying saucers as is alleged to have a civilian investigative agency handling investigations concerning flying saucers. related that he has corresponded with various harbor masters and the U. S. Navy relative to the "dreadful underground menace which relates to the disappearance of crew and passengers of various ships found floundering in the open seas out of control." He stated that has also shown interest in this subject matter, however, was unable to furnish any further amplifying details.
