This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1954 to 1961 correspondence and memoranda about flying saucers. Most of it concerns the Detroit Flying Saucer Club, which the Detroit office reported on from informants and chose not to investigate, while Bureau headquarters said saucer matters belonged to the Air Force. It also includes public letters to J. Edgar Hoover, a 1955 North Carolina sighting report, Leonard Stringfield's 1961 anonymous warning call, and policy reviews that restate the practice of referring reports to the Air Force.

FACTS concerning two mysterious visitors from outer space as reported in Harolu T. Wilkins "Flying Saucers On The Attack," published by Citadel Press (New York) 1954. INTRODUCTORY REMARKS: Concerns two men hired on or about January 20, 1955 in Los Angeles, California by official in attorneys office concerned with tracing lost and missing persons (legal inquiry bureau). THEIR (visitors) STORY: They came from another planet about the middle of December 1952. They landed on Mojove (or Mohove) Desert in a small flying saucer, 200 miles east of Los Angeles. They learned to speak English by listening (persumably in outer space?) to broadcasts of radio and television. CHARACTERISTICS: a) 6 foot 6 inches in height; b) emaciated; c) not well clothed; d) bluish-green in complexion; e) prick ears; and f) extremely successful investigators. ADDITIONAL FACTS: One of the above mentioned two men leaned over steel top of filing cabinet and with his curiously curved hand, made an indentation in the steel at least inch deep. The indented steel was sent to a metallurgical chemist, who said that, to produce such indentation, would require a force of some 2,000 lbs. to the inch. He also added that traces of more than a dozen unknown elements were found in the dents. CONCLUDING REMARKS: a) It was reported that the F.B.I. sent several agents to investigate these two men, but by the time the agents arrived the two visitors from outer space had disappeared (in mid-Feb- ruary 1953.) b) The steel filing cabinet is suppose to be locked in a vault. c) The story is suppose to have been related to the author, Wilkins, by a Los Angeles reporter, who wished to remain anonymous.
