This Federal Bureau of Investigation file section collects 1954 to 1961 correspondence and memoranda about flying saucers. Most of it concerns the Detroit Flying Saucer Club, which the Detroit office reported on from informants and chose not to investigate, while Bureau headquarters said saucer matters belonged to the Air Force. It also includes public letters to J. Edgar Hoover, a 1955 North Carolina sighting report, Leonard Stringfield's 1961 anonymous warning call, and policy reviews that restate the practice of referring reports to the Air Force.

One of the saucer shape performed certain foats at incredible speed for beyond the power of any propulsion system which we currently use. I am also familiar with the reported sightings of such craft for many centuries and in various places. I am also aware that the connecting link between energy and matter, the proton nucleus of hydrogen, was probably created by the electro-magnotic fusion of radio galaxies in an original electron atmosphere. Quite naturally I have at various times researched pertinent subjets in an attempt to figure out how such interstellar space craft operate. Perhaps I'm like a lot of others who can't see the forest because of the trees. Yet I may have hit upon a workable system capable of being created with our present technology, materials and methods. In the interest of the United States first, I pass those on to them. They are embodied in a treatise upon which I am working. Titled "The Worlds And You In The Making." I quote: Were the unseen passengers of those space craft the borno along on atomic fusion motors which burned elemental matter, hydrogen, from interstellar space? Could they use a hydrogen motor flow shoot which begins with hydrogen intakes and suction compressors into a liquid hydrogen fuel tank? That from this continually unlimited fuel reservoir second stage compressors convert the hydrogen into an expanding gas fed into a second semi-ready heater tank, which compressors upon each end to force the semi-ready fuel from the tank's center. And into a "pod" of four thermal rotors angled to fire to a central point behind outside thrust plates similar to the feed end of a gaseous cavity reactor?
