This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT WHICH FELL NEAR HOME MRS. HOUSTON, TEXAS, OCTOBER 24 LAST. INFORMATION CONCERNING. MRS. HOUSTON, ADVISED THAT ON OCTOBER 24 LAST OBJECT BETWEEN SIZE OF GOLF BALL AND FIST FELL INTO HER YARD. OBJECT ALLEGEDLY OF METALLIC ASH OF SOME KIND, WAS BRIGHT AND HOT WHEN IT FELL. OBJECT FOUND BY WHO REPORTED IT TO SCIENCE TEACHER, WHO SUGGESTED AUTHORITIES BE CONTACTED. INFORMATION FURNISHED OSI, ELLINGTON AFB, WHO HAS CONDUCTED INVESTIGATION. PRESS INQUIRY RECEIVED TODAY. ANSWERED BY STATING REPORT OF FALLING OBJECT HAD BEEN RECEIVED AND INFORMATION CONCERNING HAD BEEN RELAYED TO MILITARY AUTHORITIES, ELLINGTON AFB. OBJECT ACCORDING TO OSI IS PART OF AN ORDINARY FLARE. AND OF NO SIGNIFICANCE. FOR BUREAUS INFORMATION.
