This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

Dear Sir: As a retired member of the St Paul Police Force and having had numerous pleasant contacts with Agent and I take the liberty of an opinion that none to me that the flying saucers are easy possible that the released energy of exploded Alto to would be searing around in the atmosphere. I knew you had thought to the proper authorities and certainly would approach your comments on this thought. I am a Veteran of both World War #1 and #2 and also a member of the American Legion for 32 years. I am presently a member of The American Legion Post #1 of Houston, Wisconsin which is known on the Lurten-Hoppey Post. If this thought is instrumental in tracking down the course of this series thereby relieving some of the tension in our American country, it may be worth following up at this time. Thanking you very much for your cooperation and consideration in this matter and will you please acknowledge and advise your comments.
