This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

There is attached a copy of a self- explanatory letter dated August 1, 1952, received by this Bureau from Mrs. Avenue, Fairmont, Test Virginia, relating to the captioned matter.

"rs. letter has been acknowledged and she has been informed that a copy of her letter has been furnished to your office for a propriate attention. No further action is contemplated in this matter by this Bureau.
