This FBI file section contains a 20 January 1953 letter from the Johnson County, Indiana civil defense office asking J. Edgar Hoover whether the International Flying Saucer Bureau was subversive, with an enclosed issue of its bulletin Space Review. It also holds 1956 FBI memoranda and letters to Air Force investigators on a Van Nuys landing claim, a bright light seen from Oxford, Pennsylvania, and a low spinning object seen near Henderson, North Carolina. In each case the FBI took no action.

## TRANSLATION FROM GERMAN ## Flying Saucer, a weapon tested in 1944, which is probably now being produced in series, and at this time causes a great stir, is a V-weapon which has a round body similar to a disk having a diameter of about 48-50 m. On the outer ring it has about 45-50 automatic circular nozzles which after the ignition of the disk circulate around a plexiglass sphere in the center in which the measuring and controlling devices for long-distance steering are located. In the sphere is still sufficient space for atom bombs. These weapons are in Russian hands and can have an effective range of 30-35,000 km. The constructor of V-weapons PIEDEL in Germany stated that it concerns a typical V-weapon on which he had worked himself. I am sure that the truth is better than a panic among ignorant people. H.
